Giving a Little bit back
Kenneth D. Laub, both personally and through the company that bears his name, has consistently endeavored over the years to, as he puts it, “give a little bit back, to the city that’s been so good to me.”
These efforts have taken numerous forms, including fund-raising, philanthropy and other charitable work; producing Broadway and off-Broadway shows; and composing original music that celebrates the people and places of New York City.
A few examples of these follow, with highlighted links to the larger stories...
- Sidewalks of New York, co-sponsored with the Municipal Art Society, brought the history of downtown Manhattan to life through the installation of permanent historical markers throughoutthe district.

Laub & Co., which negotiated transactions that occupied 2.3 million square feet of its space by major corporations and institutions. In full-page ads appearing in the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal, he offered his services free of charge to any business or individual affected by the tragedy. This generous offer was recognized personally by the Governor of New York State.
- An accomplished pianist and composer, Mr. Laub marked his 50th birthday at Rockefeller Center's Rainbow Room. The event, labeled a “Superparty” by the press, was attended by several hundred of NY's business, political and entertainment leaders.
